Day One

First bale getting set into the wall.

The First bale is IN!!!

See - it's level! Check out the sun porch in the background - it's going to be GREAT when finished.

The hedge trimmer in action. Of the first 30 bales installed - 29 had to be "notched" at least once.

A bale cut in half - bit of a misread on the tape measure but ....

... it fits. (After a bit of pounding - try doing this with a brick.)

The bale walls at the end of day 1 - about half the length of the walls done 2 bales high. This area has only another 4 layers of bales to go.

Come on boy - UP!

I'd love to Dad - but there's not enough space to land.

Later ... many days later

5 Bales high ... but thirsty work

Would you look at that sunset ... Definitely beer time

Bales are scared of heights. Each bale on the top row had to be "convinced" in order to get it into place. A great work out for the abs!

Installing windows is much more civilized. I even got it level.

All bales in on the South wall ... but they sag over the doors and windows. Even if you can't see the sag, it was there and it was bugging me!

The wall undergoing repair. The top row of bales was taken down, the boxes built, the bales resized and all "convinced" back into place. I trust the improvement in the window box is obvious.
